A pair of new Sprouts Farmers Market locations, in Spring and Hedwig Village, are scheduled to open next year, according to a Bellaire-based developer and local news reports.
Sprouts is set to open in Grand Imperial Marketplace in Spring near the Grand Parkway next fall, and news reports state its Hedwig Village grocery store would open inside the former Kroger on the Katy Freeway. Sprouts has yet to announce a more specific 2027 timeline for the Hedwig Village location and did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Bellaire commercial real estate developer Fidelis announced plans for the Spring grocery store in August, and the location would mark the second in the area, joining another Sprouts on Kuykendahl Road. Construction plans for the Spring store were formalized on Friday with a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing. The work site's listed address is 5225 Riley Fuzzel Road, and the construction timeline is scheduled for Jan. 1 to Oct. 29, 2027.

“In our view, (Sprouts) brings a differentiated grocery experience that's more fresh and natural and organic and prepared foods,” R. Carson Wilson IV, Fidelis’ executive vice president of leasing, development and construction, said of the Spring location in a release. “We think it's a great fit for the surrounding community.”
Fidelis also signed Marshalls, Ross, Burlington, Five Below and Planet Fitness for the new Spring shopping center, which is set to total about 200,000 square feet in retail and restaurant space, according to the developer. Wilson said the plans had been in the works since before COVID, but the pandemic delayed the work.
“The anchors bring a lot of power to the site and really drive traffic, so we're very confident in our ability to lease them,” he said. Chron reported Sprouts' move to Hedwig Village in August while work was ongoing at 9325 Katy Freeway.
The plans advance Sprouts' local expansion, now with 10 locations throughout the Houston area. The health-conscious grocery chain opened locations in Kingwood, Webster and the Woodlands this year, according to local news reports.
