Pluckers Wings Invasion Headed For Baytown’s San Jacinto Marketplace

March 17, 2026

Pluckers Wing Bar is on its way to Baytown, with city and state filings pointing to a 9,050 square foot restaurant and bar planned at 6931 Garth Road. Construction is scheduled to begin in June 2026 and, if the permit timeline holds, wrap by the end of January 2027 at an estimated project cost of roughly $3.2 million. The Austin born wing chain’s arrival would bring a full sports bar style menu and big screen viewing to the I 10 corridor.

Permits lay out timeline and scope

State project records list the job as “PLUCKERS WING BAR” at 6931 Garth Rd and show a June 1, 2026 start date, a Jan. 31, 2027 completion date, a $3.2 million estimated cost and a 9,050 square foot new construction buildout, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The filing names SJM South Associates, LLC as the property owner and describes the scope as restaurant, bar, kitchen and dining areas. Those registration details are typically filed before leases are finalized and can be updated as construction and permitting move along.

Where it fits in Baytown's redevelopment

The planned Pluckers would sit inside the broader San Jacinto Marketplace redevelopment at I 10 and Garth, a 105 acre project aiming to replace the old San Jacinto Mall with retail, dining, green space and entertainment, according to HAR.com. HAR’s report lists Pluckers alongside other announced tenants such as Portillo’s and Bubba’s 33 and notes that the development’s first retail phase is scheduled to open in late 2026. Developers have pitched the marketplace as a way to keep shopping and dining closer to Baytown residents instead of sending them down the freeway to Houston.

Pluckers' footprint and menu expectations

Founded on the University of Texas West Campus in 1995, Pluckers has grown into a statewide chain and has been singled out by outlets such as ESPN and USA Today, according to Pluckers' website. The company’s menu, from bone in and boneless wings to sandwiches, burgers, salads, sides and desserts, is laid out on its site and is expected to anchor the Baytown location’s offerings. Regulars can also expect the chain’s signature sauces, large banks of TVs and patio seating that have become standard at other Houston area Pluckers restaurants.
