Crecia’s Kitchen, an Asian-Cajun fusion restaurant, is planning to open in the Summerwood area before the end of June.
The eatery will be located within Westlake Marketplace — a mixed-use development at the intersection of Beltway 8 and West Lake Houston Parkway that is anchored by Kroger, Marshalls and Burlington.
The menu will feature Cajun inspired dishes, such as boiled shrimp, crawfish, po’boys, an assortment of crab dishes and Cajun chicken wings. It will also have Vietnamese noodles and fried rice.
In addition, guests will be able to take a drink from the beer and wine bar.
New martial arts gym to open in Kingwood
Grandmaster Larry Ordonio is bringing 56 years of martial arts to a new gym in Kingwood. Ordonio, who holds multiple black belts, is planning to open the 3100-square foot Ordonio Martial Arts & Fitness facility this summer at 2714 W Lake Houston Pkwy in Kingwood.
“We will also be the only facility offering Taekwondo, Hapkido, Filipino Escrima, Hawaiian Kenpo, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and an after school program,” his wife and co-owner Sydney Adams said. “We have hired a team of black belts in the various disciplines to head up each program. He will be teaching several special classes including one for Kingwood's visually impaired and classes for children with disabilities.”
Ordonio is the founder of North Channel Martial Arts and has previously trained secret service agents and members of various law enforcement departments. Healthy Tex-Mex joint planned in Kingwood
La Huerta Bar & Grill will feature healthier Tex-Mex options when it opens at the Centre’ at Northpark, a new development west of Russell Palmer Road in Kingwood. Construction is already underway at the strip center.
La Huerta Bar & Grill is the brainchild of owner Rigo Luna, who has run Pappadeux’s, Pappasito’s, Fiesta Azteca in Atascocita, and Rigo’s, which opened in Kingwood in 2015.
The menu at the new restaurant will feature dishes, such as specialty crepes and it will be open for breakfast on the weekends. The full menu is still being developed.
" I am ready to bring something new to this area," Luna said.
In addition to La Huerta, the two-building shopping center will have Alpha Omega Gymnastics and Dance, the Alphabet Zone Daycare, and Center Stage Gallery — a place where guests can sip wine and paint.
