RAPID CITY, S.D. – Saturday marked the grand opening of Journeys at Rushmore Crossing.
Previously located in the Rushmore Mall, Journeys is mainly a shoe store that also sells other apparel targeted towards youth and young adults.
With the additional floor space, they are able to have a much larger inventory, along with additional employees to provide a better shopping experience.
Dennis Barrett, store manager at Journeys, said, “I think everybody that comes in here should have a shoe in their size, multiple shoes in their size. It really does help us keep a huge range. And every shoe, everybody’s going to have something for them. And it’s a lot easier for our employees to navigate everything too, so that we can help everybody easier.”
The new locations is over 5,000 square feet, making it the largest store in the company.
"When asked about the goals that the store has, manager in training, Emma Tingle, said, “I would say that one of the goals that Journeys always has whenever they open a new location is to just create somewhere that is a fun, exciting, inclusive environment for everybody that is looking for a positive shopping experience.”
The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday through Saturday, and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
