Dick’s Sporting Goods is hiring for its upcoming store in the Meyerland neighborhood in southwest Houston. The Pittsburgh-based retailer aims to fill more than 70 positions at the new store, which is planned to open in the Meyerland Plaza shopping center near Beechnut at Loop 610, in May.

The sporting goods retailer is taking over the space previously occupied by Bed Bath & Beyond at 420 Meyerland Plaza. The store will feature athletic and outdoor apparel, footwear, football, baseball and other team sports gear, golf and fitness equipment.

The company, which is looking for applicants who are passionate about sports, expects to hire 10 full-time, 35 part-time and around 25 temporary positions for the new location. Applicants can visit dickssportinggoods.jobs for information.

Founded in 1948, Dick's Sporting Goods operates more than 850 stores under the Dick's Sporting Goods, Golf Galaxy, Field & Stream, Public Lands, Going Going Gone! and Warehouse Sale names. The company has 730 Dick's Sporting Goods stores, including approximately 60 in Texas.

Meyerland Plaza is a property of Houston-based Fidelis Realty Partners.
