Kolache Factory, a national pastry franchise chain based in Katy, has returned to the Memorial area with a store at 9079-C Katy Freeway at Campbell Road in Hedwig Village. The new shop is a few miles from the company's former location in Memorial City, which closed in April, according to Chief Operating Officer Dawn Nielsen. The store is testing a smaller size of about 1,400 square feet in the wake of the pandemic. With 61 locations nationwide, Kolache Factory specializes in the Czech-inspired pastry filled with fruits, meats and cheeses, coffee from Houston roaster Katz Coffee, hot chocolate, croissants and muffins.
